  W ritten by : Siti Nurafiqah binti Zulkifle Dato 'Sir Onn bin Dato' Jaafar was born on 12 February 1895 in Bukit Gambir, Jalan Gertak Merah, Johor Bahru. He is the founder and president of the United Malays National Organization also known as UMNO. During his life, he served as a District Officer in Batu Pahat during the British colonial administration. He died on 19 January 1962 at the age of 67. In order to appreciate his services during serving in Batu Pahat, a gallery has been set up near the Batu Pahat Golf Club.                                 This 4487.50 square foot building was his official residence at the time. So, bacisally this art gallery building was built in 1910. The building at once became the base for the Japanese Imperial Army during the Japanese Occupation of Malaya. The building used to be the official residence of the Chief Minister of Johor, Abdullah Jaafar. Afterwards, the Johor State Government decided to preserve the building by turning it into an art gallery and thus the Johor Art Gallery was opened on 29 January 1994 by Chief Minister Muhyiddin Yasin. In 2000–2003, it was closed for renovation and reopened again on 6 May 2003 by Chief Minister Abdul Ghani Othman.  At first, this gallery used to display historical artifacts about arts and cultures of Johor.   Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque is the state mosque of Johor, Malaysia. Located along Jalan Skudai, Johor Bahru, the mosque was constructed between 1892 and 1900, under the direction of Sultan Abu Bakar.  One of the most magnificent and historic buildings in the southernmost state of Malaysia, Johor, is the majestic Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque. Known in the Malay language as Masjid Negeri Sultan Abu Bakar, it is the State Mosque of Johor. As the architect of the mosque, Tuan Haji Mohamed Arif bin Punak set out to recreate English Victorian colonial architecture, as noted by the minarets in the style of British clock towers of the 19th century. Along with some slight Malay influence, the mosque also features some Moorish architectural elements.
